Why it pays to have debt collection as a backup

We had debtors who regularly paid late. Sending reminders was eating up a huge amount of time and energy, and on top of that it was damaging our business relationships.

Solution: at Malcom Finance, we handle reminders and debtor communication all the way through to legal collection. You focus on your business, not on chasing payments.

One of our debtors stopped paying altogether. We didn’t know how to proceed – hiring a lawyer or a collection agency would have cost us thousands.

Solution: with Malcom Finance, you don’t have to worry about any of it, because reminders and collection are part of our factoring.

What you ask us most often

Yes. Debt collection is part of Malcom Finance factoring and is free for all our clients. You pay no commissions or flat fees for receivables management.

All active Malcom Finance clients who use our factoring. Receivables we have purchased or manage are collected automatically.

We first try to resolve the situation amicably – through reminders, communication and agreement on repayment of the outstanding amount. Only if the receivable cannot be settled after an extended out-of-court process do we proceed to legal collection. The next steps always depend on the specific situation and the type of financing.

The duration depends on the debtor’s response and the method of collection. The first reminder is sent to the debtor typically one day after the due date. Out-of-court collection usually takes 2–8 weeks.

No, debt collection is part of the standard factoring agreement with Malcom Finance. No addenda need to be signed.

Our team approaches collection professionally and respects business relationships. We communicate with the debtor in a factual and constructive manner, with the aim of resolving the matter without unnecessary escalation.
